Cityscapes
About

A world of music influenced and inspired by cityscapes from across the world.

Cityscapes launched Perpetuo's innovative evenings of chamber music, taking audiences through a world of music influenced and inspired by cityscapes from across the world. The programme was first presented by Perpetuo in the wonderful, spacious loft at 47/49 Tanner Street, London SE1 3PL, in partnership with Ugly Duck.

Perpetuo's collaborations for this programme can include a special exhibition of photographs by the London Photo Festival, art by Caroline Mackenzie, drawings by Tom Pearce, and choreography by Lucia Schweigert, guiding audiences through varying cityscapes from across the world.

Repertoire includes:

  • Steve Reich: New York Counterpoint
  • Luigi Boccherini: Night Music of the Streets of Madrid
  • Philip Glass: Facades
  • Jim Parker: Boulevard
  • Joseph Haydn: London Trio in C major
  • Aaron Copland: The Quiet City

This programme was originally produced and promoted in partnership with Ugly Duck, and is available for future festival and recital series programming, with scope to adapt the visual and collaborative elements to suit each venue.
